Australia Day 2023 School Story Competition

The Australia Day 2023 School Story Competition is open to all Cowra Shire students from Kindergarten to Year Six. This year's theme is Encounters with Australia Animals.

Entry Details

  • All entries should include a written piece describing an encounter with an animal that lives in Australia.
  • Please submit entries on a single A4 page with student age, grade, school and contact details on the reverse.
  • Original artwork to accompany the story is encouraged!

Competition Sections: Individual year groups from Kindergarten to Year Six

School Award: Presented to the school with the highest level of overall participation in the competition.

Judging

  • Each school may submit up to five entries in each section
  • Entries will be judged by an independent panel
  • Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third in each section
  • Finalists will be invited to attend Cowra Shire’s Australia Day Service on 26 January 2023 to receive their Awards.

Please submit all entries to Cowra Council by Wednesday 30 November 2022.
