Applications Open for the 1st Round of Cowra Community Grants for 2026-27
Cowra Council is encouraging local community groups and organisations to apply for funding through the next round of the Cowra Community Grants Program, which opens on Monday, 3 August.
The Cowra Community Grants Program continues to support grassroots projects that strengthen local communities, improve facilities, enhance participation, and preserve the region's rich cultural heritage.
Mayor Paul Smith said the program has delivered significant benefits across the Cowra local government area since its inception.
"The Cowra Community Grants Program continues to make a real difference by supporting the dedicated volunteers and organisations that contribute so much to our community," Cr Smith said.
"Over 22 funding rounds, Council has assisted 418 projects with more than $494,800 in grant funding. These grants help turn great community ideas into reality and ensure our local organisations can continue to thrive."
The most recent funding round saw 19 projects funded from 20 applications received, with a total of $18,994.86 allocated to community initiatives across arts and culture, facility development, sport and recreation, and small capital equipment.
Projects supported in the latest round included:
- A memorial plaque honouring four Darbys Falls servicemen who died during World War I.
- Continued restoration of historic ghost signage in Woodstock.
- Improvements to community facilities at Morongla Hall and Cowra Masonic Hall.
- New equipment for local sporting organisations including netball, junior rugby league, swimming, squash and pony club activities.
- Equipment purchases for community organisations including Cowra Community Markets, Cowra Family History Group, Gooloogong Community Shed and the Woodstock CWA.
Cr Smith said the diversity of successful projects highlights the important role local organisations play in creating vibrant and connected communities.
"From preserving local history and supporting sporting participation to upgrading community facilities and purchasing essential equipment, these projects deliver lasting benefits for residents across our region," he said.
Eligible not-for-profit organisations, community groups and volunteer associations are encouraged to apply for funding. Grant guidelines and application forms are available from Council.
Applications for the current funding round open on Monday, 3 August and close Monday 31st Augst.
