Cowra Shire Council reviews Procurement Policy and invites local suppliers to register interest

Cowra Shire Council is reviewing its Procurement Policy to ensure it remains transparent, competitive and reflective of Council’s commitment to supporting the local economy.

Each year, Council purchases a wide range of goods and services and is proud to work with local suppliers where possible. The current policy includes a local preference provision that recognises the value local businesses bring through jobs, community investment and responsive service delivery.

Council is encouraging local businesses and service providers to engage now by making sure Council knows what you can supply and how to contact you.

“We want local businesses to have every opportunity to compete for Council work. If you can supply goods or services, we encourage you to get in touch and be part of our supplier network,” said General Manager Paul Devery.

How to engage with Council procurement

• Introduce your business and the goods/services you provide.

• Ask about upcoming opportunities relevant to your trade or service area.

• Confirm how Council advertises quotes/tenders and how to receive notifications.

• Update your contact details so Council can reach you when opportunities arise.

Business contact For procurement enquiries and to discuss supplier opportunities, contact Council’s Business Officer on, Ponie De Wet: 0456 624 299 or ponie.dewet@cowra.nsw.gov.au.

Council values strong partnerships with local businesses and will continue to seek value for money outcomes that deliver benefits for the Cowra Shire community.
