Community Notice – Parking Safety Improvements Around New Hospital

Cowra Council is advising the community of changes to parking conditions in Brisbane Street; adjacent to the driveway access to the Cowra Hospital and at Bennelong Place.

At times sight-distance to Brisbane Street for vehicles departing the hospital driveway is restricted by vehicles parking at the driveway.

To improve road safety, a ‘No Parking’ zone will be installed either side of the hospital driveway. Please ensure you park in accordance with the parking restrictions.

Council has also reviewed parking near the intersection of Bennelong Place (opposite the Water Treatment Plant). Vehicles have been observed parking in breach of the Australian Road Rules which prohibit vehicles stopping within 10 metres of an intersection without traffic lights.

A No Stopping zone will be installed at this intersection to improve visibility and safety.

Parking conditions and pedestrian movement will continue to be monitored.
