Cowra Council is inviting all residents to review and provide feedback on the draft Operational Plan, which is currently on display for comment.

The plan outlines Cowra Council’s Integrated Delivery Programs, Operational Plans, Financial Plans, and Revenue Policies, providing a framework for the operation of all major Council financial, construction and community activities.

The draft Operational Plan covers Cowra Council’s Integrated Delivery Program for 2022-2023 to 2025-2026, Operational Plan for 2024-2025, and Long-Term Financial Plan for 2024-2025 to 2033- 2034

Continued planning on long-term infrastructure projects remains a key focus for Cowra Council in the upcoming 2024-2025 year. Major projects currently in various stages of planning or delivery include the Drought Supply Project pipeline from Billimari, Planning for West Cowra Sewer system, West Cowra flood mitigation works, Wyangala Waters treatment plant operation, Cowra Aquatic Centre asset renewal, Council depot redevelopment and masterplans for key sporting precincts to upgrade facilities.

Cowra Council is well positioned to plan for the orderly improvement or replacement of major infrastructure while maintaining existing assets for the community’s benefit,” said Cowra Mayor, Ruth Fagan.

Other objectives Cowra Council aims to deliver include working with the NSW Government on monitoring the redevelopment of Cowra Hospital, continuing liaison with the local First Nations community to develop a Reconciliation Action Plan, undertaking an Integrated Water Cycle Management strategy, reviewing the Cowra Shire Development Control Plan, and lobbying the NSW Government on various priorities.

Residents are encouraged to provide feedback on the draft Operational Plan to shape the future direction of Cowra. The financial position of Cowra Council is sound, and this plan demonstrates the capacity to continue providing assets and services for the benefit of the community over the next decade,” said Mayor Fagan.

All residents are encouraged to review the plan and provide feedback to Cowra Council.
