The following information gives an overview regarding the installation of different signage throughout the Cowra Shire in April/May 2022.

Speed Signs

Council on behalf of Transport for NSW will be installing three static mobile speed camera signs on Sydney and Canowindra Roads.

The installation is part of the roll out of 1000 static mobile speed camera signs across NSW. These signs are being installed to remind drivers that mobile speed cameras are in use in NSW, and encourage drivers to stay under the speed limit every time they drive on our roads.

The signs have the message: “Mobile speed cameras used in this area. Thank you for driving safely.”

Permanent Flood advanced signage

Fold down ‘road closed’/ ‘bridge closed’ signage will soon be installed as advanced warning of bridge closures. Signage will be installed for Davidson Bridge (Merriganowry), installed at Billimari and Forbes Road as advanced warning to motorists.

Signage will also give motorists advanced notice of the Low Level bridge closures. Signs will be installed on Redfern Street, Boorowa Road and Lachlan Street near the Caravan Park and folded down when in use.

Advanced Signage

Shortly Council will commence an upgrade to signage on the Mid Western Highway (Sydney Road and Grenfell Roads). This will include new intersection signage, safety chevrons and also advanced road names prior to intersections. This upgrade will come in line with similar advanced signage on Olympic Highway (Young Road) and on the Mid Western Highway in Blayney Shire.
