Cowra Shire Council is pleased to announce the opening of the Waste To Art competition for 2024 with the theme for this year being ‘packaging.’

Replacing the popular RAFCA art contest, Waste To Art, isn’t just a local competition to promote recycling but the competition also gives winning entrants the opportunity to enter for the regional prize.

“After RAFCA ran for the last time in 2023, Council decided that we needed to continue this in some way so we have signed up for the Waste To Art event,” said Philippa Childs of Cowra Shire Council.

“Waste To Art is a very popular recycled art competition and now Cowra locals can create their art with the potential of getting it out there to a wider audience,” said Philippa.

“If RAFCA is anything to go by I have no doubt we will receive outstanding entries this year too,” Philippa said.

First prize is $200, with second to claim $100 and third $50. Entries close on June 25, 2024 and entries can be brought to the Nguluway Room for submission between 8am and 5pm on June 24 and 25. Winners will then go on to contest the regional competition.
