Bin Stickers Rolling Out from Monday 15 September
Cowra Shire Council will begin rolling out bin stickers from Monday 15 September as part of an initiative to better communicate with residents when a bin cannot be collected.
The stickers will be placed on the lids of bins that cannot be serviced under Council’s kerbside waste collection. The aim is to reduce confusion by providing a clear explanation when a bin is left behind.
“We’ve had ongoing issues with bins being left out that can’t be collected for various reasons, whether it’s overfilled, contains the wrong material, or doesn’t meet our service criteria,” said Cowra Shire Council General Manager Paul Devery. “Rather than leaving residents wondering why their bin hasn’t been picked up, our staff will now leave a sticker explaining the reason.”
What residents need to know:
• Stickers will be placed only on bins that Council cannot collect
• Stickers will be applied from Monday 15 September
• Each sticker will have a list of common issues, the relevant box will be ticked to explain the reason for non-collection
• There is no need to contact Council, collection teams will apply the stickers as needed
An example of the sticker is attached to this release so residents know what to expect.
“We want to make it easier for residents to understand what went wrong and how to fix it for the next collection,” Paul Devery.
“It’s about improving our service, reducing confusion, and keeping the streets tidy.”
Council thanks the community for their cooperation and ongoing efforts to support an effective waste management system.
Ends.
