Colourful blue bollards have been installed at mobility parking locations across the Cowra Shire to enhance accessibility and safety.

Cowra Shire Mayor Ruth Fagan and Chair of the Cowra Access Advisory Committee, Cr Nikki Kiss, are pleased to promote this essential initiative.

These blue bollards not only serve as a practical safety feature but also symbolise our commitment to making Cowra an inclusive and welcoming place for all. The Cowra Access Advisory Committee has played an integral role in advocating for such improvements, championing the rights of our residents, and contributing to the town's overall liveability,” said Cr Kiss.

Cowra Shire Mayor Ruth Fagan said the bollards were next to the mobility parking spaces to stop motorists from parking too close.

It is disappointing to see residents with limited mobility struggle to alight their vehicles when they have parked in a mobility zone. The bright blue flexible bollards will allow them the space to alight without causing damage to parking vehicles.”

Cr Kiss, Chair of the Access Committee, emphasised the importance of these bollards for the entire community.

"We believe that everyone in Cowra, regardless of their abilities, should be able to access our community spaces without barriers."

The Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre along with Bunnings are two of numerous locales across the shire where these vibrant blue bollards have been installed and improved the safe accessibility for all residents and visitors.
